Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Celebrate
Purchase of Hosea Helps New Property in Atlanta, GA (August 23, 2017) – On Friday August 25, 2017, Hosea Helps will announce the organization’s new headquarters with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The event will be held at the new 4+ acre property located at 2545 Forrest Hills Drive, Atlanta, GA 30315 in the Perkerson area. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. with an official press conference held at 11:30 a.m. This new location will allow President and CEO, Elizabeth Omilami to expand the service offerings of Hosea Helps in keeping with the legacy of her father, The Rev. Hosea Williams as well as integrate her own vision for being a light in an impoverished community. With the support of Atlanta’s Mayor Kasim Reed and the City of Atlanta that gave $200,000 towards the purchase, Citizens Trust Bank, Financer, and the entire Atlanta Community, Hosea Helps will strive to increase its service levels above the 20,000 individuals and families currently helped each year. Special invited guests for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony include Mayor Kasim Reed, Councilmember Ivory Young, Jr. (District 3), Councilmember Joyce Sheperd (District 12) and more. Providing a light continental breakfast, Hosea Helps invites the entire Atlanta community to come out and celebrate this momentous occasion. In addition, all Atlanta media outlets are encouraged to attend the grand reveal of Hosea Helps’ new home.
For almost 20 years Hosea Helps (formerly Hosea Feed The Hungry and Homeless) has directly served the community from the same location on Donnelly Avenue where they have provided food and other necessities to impoverished families, helped individuals with overdue rent and utility payments and much more. When the organization was forced to move from its current location, “Atlantans” came to the rescue through support in every form. Special thanks to the tremendous effort and teamwork of all parties involved, including A. Michael Lee and An Tran at JONES DAY®, Joe Scibilia and Robert Shaw at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, and Jeff Margolin and Robert Patchett at Ramboll Environ, who provided their legal and environmental services free of charge through partnership with Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta. Now Hosea Helps will never be homeless and will build a place of refuge and hope to those in need of a hand-up!
