We celebrate labor day by producing a festival that is dedicated to decreasing unemployment in low income communities.
Open Job Fair
20 Companies Hiring
This event is a job fair where the people who attend the event come dressed for an interview, with resumes in hand, actively looking for employment. The companies that participate become vendors to over 1,000 people that are serious about finding employment.
Job Readiness
GA Department of Labor
Everyone who attends the event has access to seminars that teach resume development, ways to properly interview, the importance of maintaining a professional appearance, job retention, and works to help individuals understand their own barriers to employment.
Financial Planning
Design a Better Path
In addition to promoting job readiness, and working with businesses on job placement, we offer classes on that day that teach family financial planning, and methods for managing new income streams in a way that better stabilizes the household.
Men & Women's Clothing
Professionalism
Individuals who attend this event can visit our professional clothing section and select items that contribute to their professional wardrobe free of charge. We also offer a range of tools for professionals and students, such as messenger bags or briefcases, laptop bags, legal pads, folders, and office supplies.
Fresh Produce
Farm to Table Initiative
Each individual that attends the event gets a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables to choose from. Our partnership with local Georgia farmers allows us to distribute these items free of charge to the families that we serve. We promote the idea that healthy living must accompany any other idea of personal progress.
Get/Renew Food Stamps
SNAP Resources
If families need to sign up for, or renew, their food stamps, everyone who attends this event can complete a SNAP application. This is a part of our public benefits screening program, which screens families for public benefits like Medicaid and Medicare and tells them which services they’re eligible for.
Making a Donation
The Hosea Helps community has several really strong human services programs whose combined social impact not only reaches thousands of families who need help, but also provides opportunities to thousands of people who want to connect and make a difference. Throughout the year, we produce innovative human services programs that transform individual donations into a singular force against the suffering and instability experienced by families that have faced financial collapse.
We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities, and you’ll know the exact social impact of your time and energy. We have opportunities for individuals and groups, businesses and schools, churches and civic organizations. We can accommodate up to 250 people at one time. We’re also a great place to complete those community service hours. If you have a group and would like to impact a particular community or attack a particular problem, we can customize a volunteer opportunity that allows you to achieve that.
